How should the medicine be taken?

Firstly, it is important to only take Metformin according to the prescription given by your doctor. Do not take less or more of the medicine, and do not miss doses, as this can hold it from fulfilling its roles.

The tablets are most often taken with a meal. General dosage depends, but some forms of the medication are taken once per day, after the evening meal.

In case you have missed a dose, simply take it as soon as you remember. However, in case it is almost time for your next scheduled dose, skip the missed one and take this instead.
