Suprax also known as cefixime is used to treat various types of bacterial infections. It works by putting a stop on the growth of the bacteria. It does not treat any of viral infections. Overdose of this medicine can lead to side-effects and decreased helpfulness. The medicine can be taken by mouth with or without having food. It is usually taken once a day or as directed by a doctor. The dosage of the medicine is decided based upon the patient’s medical condition and body’s response to the therapy. Such antibiotics work at their best level when the amount of the medicine in our body is kept at a constant level. One must continue the use of the medicine until the complete prescribed amount is over. Stopping the medicine before the expected time period can allow the bacteria to grow back in the body.

There are few side effects that one may experience while taking Suprax. Stomach upset, stomach ache, diarrhea, gastric problem, dizziness, etc are few side effects of the medicine. If the side effects grow worse then it is better to notify your doctor and apply for the right treatment to deal with it. It is also advised to not take any other medicine without consulting your doctor to treat the side effects of Suprax.

Before opting to go under the treatment of Suprax you must take some precautionary measures. Inform your doctor if you are allergic to the medicine or any component present in it during the time of prescription. Do not forget to mention your medical history of any other diseases, especially kidney or intestinal diseases. If you are pregnant, then use this medicine only in times of emergency and consult your doctor before breast feeding as the drug passes into the breast milk.
